These Are Some Of The Benefits Our Members Enjoy:
As a member of this site it is hoped you will be far more than just a passive viewer. We want your participation and contributions. This site is not intended as just the work of one person, but rather a collaborative community effort. As a community we can have a far greater impact than any of us can have as an individual.
-
Forums
Forums are a means of sharing information and finding answers to specific questions. As our membership grows so will the value of the forums. One doctor said, "diabetics often become more expert at diabetes than those treating them." As informed medical self advocates we can share what we learn with each other through the forums.
-
Personal member's pages (this function has been temporarily deactivated)
You can use your personal pages as your personal web site. It is yours to use as you please within the rules of this site. Restrictions include: no porn, no racially inflammatory content, no warez or other copyright infringement, nothing to support terrorism or anything else illegal. Other than that the pages are yours. Our personal pages can be a means to get to know each other and build an online community.
-
File Sharing
We strongly advocate the use of dietary software to help control blood glucose. NutriBase 7 is the software that has been chosen to be used with this site since it is far better than any other currently available and very reasonably priced. One of the features of NutriBase 7 is the ability to share files with other NutriBase users. As the site grows so will this most valuable resource. This site is also doubles as a NutriBase users group.

Healthy Diabetic Recipes (The former recipe manager is susspect in the site hack and has been disabled until the component can be fixed or replaced.)
The recipe portion of our site actually has three different areas.
1. There is the ability of members to add recipes, maintain a personal favorite recipe section. And see what other site members are adding and add the ones you like to your favorites.
2. The file sharing function allows you to download healthy diabetic recipes that you can add to your personal copy of NutriBase and edit it to your personal taste and dietary goals.
3. The sample diabetic diet can help get you stated as you are learning dietary control of blood glucose. The sample diabetic diet is based on a 1600 calorie diet and needs to be modified to your personal calorie goals based on the 20-50-30 PCF model.

Links
There are many great diabetic sites on the Internet. As a member you can help by adding links to site you think can be beneficial. Reciprocal links are preferred as they help build page relevance with the search engines. There are protocols when adding links. It is not commonly known or understood that permission should be obtained before adding a link. Please, before adding a link, ask permission from the site owner, or look for a general permission statement on the site. When asking permission for the link it is a great time to also ask for a reciprocal link to this site. US government sites have implied permission, as they are public domain. This may not be true of all government sites.
