I was diagnosed at the age of 70 but the doctor said I must have had it for 10 or more years before. My feet felt nume when I lay down at night but my old doctor said I had pulse and did not diagnose diabeties. My toes were turning purple when Toma came back to Colorado after being diagnosed with diabeties and as he was learning how to handle his diabeties he began to teach me. Now my feet look almost normal no purple in the toes. I keep falling off the diet and try to eat like everyone else and I began to have trouble again. I am glad to see this site again.
