Well everyone I got really good news this last Fri.
My doctor told me I have my sugar under control and when I take off the rest of my weight I get to stop taking all these icky drugs! lol
Seriously.
Before I met Toma on our sister site I was at a loss of portion sizes and what was safe for us to eat.
My sugar would spike up to almost 200 after every meal and I was become extremely frustrated. I was working so hard to bring my AC1 down I went from 13 to 9 to 7 but could not get it any lower.
How do I get off meds when I cant even keep my sugar stable.
They have me on so many types of medication that make me sick for about 4 hours a day I can hardly function.
Crestor, and a low dose of high blood pressure med to protect the kidneys, then another for thyroid which I do not have symptoms of having thyroid trouble, another to protect the heart Avandia which I stopped and refuse to take it causes heart problems and has killed a few folks and Byetta.
Here's the thing I do not have high cholesterol but they said it is to help from getting.
My heart is good so why give me drugs for that?
My blood pressures in the normal range and how does taking another drug protect it when my kidneys have to work over time to process it?
So when Toma was telling me he is off meds I wanted to know how?
He told me about his book and this site.
Now I am the type of a person that has to see how its done before it sinks in.
LOL!
I read the book and asked to see it, meal wise how to break it down.
We talked a bit and I reread the book I went huh!
I have learned so much from this site and have been using the tools.
We went and bought the bullet you can grind wheat, your coffee fresh herbs it is really a great product.
We no longer use store bought flour, or store bought wheat flour.
We went through our cabinets tossed out so many things the American Diabetes assoc says we can have, uh-mm I really think they need to fire those guys.
And now when I look at recipe's from diabetic sites I laugh at a lot of them so many are full of the white processed poisons.
The world is talking we need to go green and here we diabetics have been saying that all this time hehehe!
The key to eating is going green! with a rainbow of other colors!
Eat fresh, make it yourself, get the freezer to microwave dish's if your crunched for time, make double meals toss the extras in the freezer for when your stressed for time.
We started taking the pre-made meals I do with us to town so we do not have to stop and eat some where.
Keep lots of little baggies of veggies that are crunchy for when you get that crunch cravings.
I go in for my next AC1 in Aug, I know I ll be a 5 hehehe
I sit in my low 90s all the time now and after a meal I am lucky if I hit 130
Plus I have been feeling the hurdle we go through when we are dropping to the next level.
I ll be sitting in my eightys by my next doctors appt.
My mom asked me to take a picture and send it to my brother, he is a diabetic too, but they eat out a lot and have a fast paced life, She told me to write on the bottom you can look like this too! and feel this great..
I have to give him credit because after telling him about the site and my numbers he is asking me what do I do Cat? I told him go to
