When I was diagnosed I was living in Canada but had to go to the Seattle VA for treatment. When I tried to return to my wife in Nanaimo I was refused entrance back into Canada so I had to go to Denver where I was invited to stay with her and Dan until I was cleared to return to Canada. Jamie made a lot of suggestions to help me change what I was doing and started me on an internet quest that resulted in a much better dietary plan than I was being offered by the Veterans Administration which followed the standard ADA protocols for treating type 2 diabetes. What she taught me and what we learned together from my internet searches resulted in labs so good that my medical team decided to take me off all meds. I have been med free and have maintained excellent lab results ever since. Jamie also taught me new ways of thinking about food and how to prepare it. Thank you Jamie.
